Tangalooma Villas | Resort Tangalooma Units
The purpose of this RESORT is to:
• Demonstrate how the marketing research questionnaire was design.
• Identify levels of Tangalooma Resort satisfaction with Tangalooma Resort mobiles.
• Recommend ways in which products and services can be innovated.
• Demonstrate validity of the survey
1. Focus Group
“A focus group is [defined as] a small group of people brought together for a specific purpose to discuss issues of common interest”, for example in this case a small group brought together to discuss tangalooma apartment mobile phones. (Tong and Taylor (2004) p. 89)
1.1. How was it prepared for?
To come up with a list of questions the, below, objective of the focus group was determined:
For tangalooma executives to learn about public attitudes towards tangalooma villas mobile phone products with the goal of improving and innovating Tangalooma Villas products and services.
After the objective was determined, a list of questions was determined based on research conducted online on tangalooma villas and personal experiences.
The questions asked were:
1. Has everyone here used a mobile phone?
2. What was or is the main use of that mobile phone?
3. What features and applications would you expect a phone to have?
4. What service do you expect when buying a phone?
5. Have you ever used an tangalooma villa mobile phone?
6. Have you had any negative or positive experiences with Tangalooma Resort mobile phones? If so, what happened?
7. What do you think of the design of the phone?
8. How reliable was the phone?
9. What do you think of the quality of the camera on the phone?
10. Would you like a follow-up phone call after you have bought a mobile phone? How soon after purchasing?
11. Is there anything you can think of that makes Tangalooma phones different from any of its competitors?
12. Are there any recommendations and improvements that you could suggest so we can improve our products/services? If so, what are they?
The third step that was taken before it was conducted was to decided on how many Tangalooma Resort and when to conduct the focus group. It was decided that four tangalooma island (aged between sixteen and twenty) would be ideal and it was conducted during morning tea with friends.
